There is a ritual in Mecca pilgrim that is going to shock you in many different ways : ANIMAL SACRIFICE Every year in a certain Lunar month , all muslims who have gone to Mecca , must perform some meaningless rituals which I have no problem with , except one of them. During one of those days , evey muslim who is in Mecca must sacrifice an animal , it can be a goat , cow , sheep or camel. The bigger the animal is , the more Allah will like you . Any way , imagine the following : 3 million animals are slaughtered in a very barbaric way. But they can not make any use of that meat . Because if they do not do anything about it during the same day , it will get rutten and will infest the whole area , killing many people. So , the have come up with a brilliant idea : Already a few days before that day , they dig big holes and after sacrificing animals , the throw ( at least ) 3 million animal into those holes and then cover them with earth. Can one muslim tell us what on earth do you do that for ? In the old time , they used to do that and give the meat to the poor people. But now adays the situastion is different. The poor need help in many more different ways than getting a piece of meat ( which never gets to them any way). During rest of the year many more Pilgrims go ther to so called Umrah Pilgrim and sacrifice animals which mostly have the same faith. We have done some calculations : During this ritual and during a whole year , about 7-10 million animals are sacrificed . Selling the animals to pilgrimers , making money to slaughter them and finally making money in barrying them gives the goverment of Saudi arabia a profite of more than 2 billion us dollars every year . Another 10 Million animals ( at least ) are being slaughtere in Islamic countries during the same day and the meat is distributed to those who live in the neighbourhood and themselves . At least that meat is not wasted in that way , but how about the following proposal : If the purpose of this ritual is to help the poor : 1- why dont they just take the money to the places where it is needed ( like many places in Africa , mostly Islamic countries ) and help them ? getteing them water m improving their agriculture and etc. 2- If muslims do not slaughter the 10,000,000 animals during just one year and distribute the animals among the people who need them . Each poor family that gets a few goats , cows , sheeps or camels wont be poor any more and can provide for their families rest of their lives. This was only for one years meat wasting. Imagine what if they had done it every year . I bet my life that there would not be a single starving person in this world. But Saudi Arabian Goverment and Imams are making billions of dollars in wasting that meat ( and other meaningless rituals ). That is why they insist to continue that ritual exactly as it was being done for 1400 years ago. ( when you are born muslim or become a muslim , at the same time you are put in a time machine to go back 1400 years ago and stay there.) Muslims could have taken care of starvation ( which is mostly in islamic countries by the way )long time ago . But some Imams and those who get the benifit will not allow that. That is why I personally consider Islam the cause of starvation in the world. If you can stop starvation but you dont , then you are as guilty as have caused it.
