There is a segment of South Rd between Torrens Rd and Port Rd in West Croydon that I drive past quite regularly (because I live and pretty well have mostly lived nearby all my life...), where the new South Rd Development has been taking place there for quite a while now.... Well,today I was quite shocked to see just HOW MUCH has been demolished & changed along that stretch of road.....THAT WAS MY OLD NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE I GREW UP MAN!!! :( :( :( :( :( :( As I weaved in and out the five or so streets along that stretch of Sth Rd, it bought back ALL sorts of memories: One of the first houses we lived in when we moved to Australia....GONE!! One of my Dads best friends house....GONE!! The pet Cockatoo that used to come out & talk to us when we walked past the house on my way home from school....GONE!! The Church that used to piss me off with all the CARS PARKED around it on Sundays....GONE!! (haha! THAT wont be missed much 3:) ) GEE....I really hope it doesnt affect the surrounding neighbourhood and places like QUEEN St. CAFE......that would be tragic! I guess its called progress, but it made me quite sad today to see a big chunk of where I grew up just....GONE! :( SIGH!!....and big sip of my herbal Tea. Nitey Nite peeps, sweet dreams!
