There is absolutely NOTHING that feels better than helping someone in need, and tonight I was proud to be a part of a raging success. The benefit show Sharing for Sheri went extremely well, and its because of the hard work of a lot of people. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to comedians Patti Vasquez, John DaCosse, Trevor Burke, Psycho Babble TVs Mike Preston, (who was flu ridden yet still hilarious), Sonya White and Larry Reeb who performed, and those who didnt including Julie Ostrow, Jamie Cruz, Bill Gorgo, Mike Land, John OBrien and Dan Morris who not only came out to support but was a videographer and still photographer for the evening. The Zanies Vernon Hills staff has always been a close knit family, and Liz Long was absolutely terrific in getting the Hawthorne Woods Country Club to donate the space for the event. They were all fantastic to work with, and Lisa Bartsch was our contact person that made our lives easy tonight. So many of the Zanies staff really knocked it out of the park tonight including Julie Pasley, Tara Bohner-Zoetmulder, Joy Mogensen Morris, Paul Robar, Debra Hipsley, Liz Puckett, Teresa Gallo, Susan Peplowski-kaufmangoodman, Julie Rhodes, and now its late and Im going to forget someone and feel like a total scumbag. Please forgive me if I left you out, but everyone that showed up really helped make it a great night. Sheri showed up at the end, and it was really touching to see her expression as she saw the love and outpouring of kindness for her. She is a sweetheart, and always has been. To have something so cruel and vicious happen to someone to kind and caring as her is just incomprehensible - but life has never been fair. To see the place full of kind hearted people supporting another who can really use it was a feeling that I will never get tired of. Did I put in a lot of work to get this going? Yes, but not nearly as much as the rest of the crew. This was a total group effort, and I give thanks to all. Those that couldnt make it can still donate.
