There is an interesting dichotomy that is clearly reflected in the art of the Eastern/Greek Orthodox churches in which Christ is portrayed as the risen and ruling King vs. the Western church as seen in the Roman Catholic art of the suffering Savior on the cross. Both are important to who we are as Christ followers. However, it was a blessing to me to be reintroduced to the risen and ruling Lord of the Universe in a new way and to reflect on that aspect of Christ. Now you see where my mind roams when I run :-)
