There is no Medical Malpractice cap in New York. If this had happened in California, the most her estate could get for Med Mal is $250,000. So if certain large medical groups can save a couple of million dollars a year by NOT ordering expensive testing that could save a life, its just good business to withold that testing and write a check every few years when the family of the deceased lawyer up. Its not personal. Its just business.
