There is some news in Mumbai Mirror about the BMC allowing the local congress MLA to build a swimming pool in the famous Backgarden in Colaba. This news isnt factual. The Mayor has asked the officials to stop it with immediate effect. To withdraw the permissions, there is a certain process that is to be followed, which is time consuming, but will be followed so that the issue doesnt come up again, legally. Till the permission is legally withdrawn, the officials will maintain the presence of the permission. I have visited the ground and protested against the swimming pool club the MLA wants to build in a very beautiful ground. I assure the residents of Colaba, and the students of the schools around the ground, that I will NOT let the pool be constructed against the wishes of the local residents. I stand with them, and will ensure that their wish is fulfilled. On the other hand, to expedite work, I have spoken to the BEST Chairman, so as to put lights in the ground for kids to play till late.
