There seems to be a some confusion as to what is considered to be - TopicsExpress

There seems to be a some confusion as to what is considered to be retro, vintage and antique, even by the experts. Etsy and eBay listings as well as FB groups that sell items tend to misuse these terms. Vintage stores that have what they consider strict standards for their customers confuse their very own merchandise they sell confusing retro with vintage. Retro is not vintage and is usually not correlated with the term antique. The experts somewhat disagree as well to the true meaning of these adjectives. Personally Ive always used antique to mean anything 100 years old or older (except for cars). Vintage can be anything from an era that is 20 to 30 years old. Retro is an adjective describing anything that is a replica of vintage or anything that has gone out of style during a specific era and should not be confused with a true vintage.
