There was a Y-DNA match on ancestry with a Raymond Davis Wheeler - TopicsExpress

There was a Y-DNA match on ancestry with a Raymond Davis Wheeler who matched me on 27 common markers and we matched all all markers except one. I am the only person in our Y-DNA project with that variation so he would match everyone else in our project. He is projected to be a match in 9 generations based upon that variation which is considered a slow changing marker yet from the group results we can deduce John Wheeler did not have it so it mutated somewhere between David Wheeler son of John Wheeler and me to that value. Blair Wheeler called his son Scott Wheeler and found out that they descend from Ignatius Wheeler. His aunt Phyllis did all the family research and Scott hopes to get in touch with her and get copies of her research notes. I usually like to wait to announce these type of things but this is exciting news to me. I invited Scott Wheeler to join the group so if anybody sees him give him a Wheeler welcome and say hi to him. I also called him and also got in touch with my brother Phil who is the Wheeler document researcher and he intends to call him tomorrow. I will keep everyone posted as this unfolds.
