There was a colony that we I sterilized in Lagos Marina and the Hotel of Marina Club caught all the cats and abandoned them in the kennel and other places. Could you please write to the emails below claiming this attitude from the Hotel and the attitude from the municipal vet for giving a cat trap to be used with this intentions, and also could you ask your friends to do it? I think it is important english people send emails to them because the Hotel would me more upset for loosing potential clients. You may use the letter below or write a new one, and the emails adress to send and subject are next. Many thanks, Carina Send to: [email protected], [email protected] Subject: Colony of cats at Lagos Marina Dear President of Lagos Council and Director of Marina Club Lagos Resort, It is with sadness and indignation that I became aware that the Marina Club Hotel in Lagos proceeded to catch all the cats who lived in the Hotel and in the Lagos Marina surrondings, with a trap loaned by the Lagos Municipal Kennel, and delivered them in the Municipal Kennel to be euthanised. The colony of cats had been living there for several years, were healthy, and were perfectly adapted and cherished by many customers. Given that all the cats were sterilized, some measures would have been enough to attenuate any hassles that the cats could have been causing, helping to make the hotel an example of a company that protects animals. Instead, the Hotel not only has not cooperated with the sterilization of the colony, but also prepared the arrival of the summer by cleaning the place free of the animals before the arrival of the tourists, who would be shocked had they heard of such procedure. Given that such an attitude is not compatible with an ethical conduct and respect for life, I hereby express my protest regarding the action of the Marina Club Hotel, in Lagos, as well as against the attitude of the Lagos Municipal Kennel for having lent the kennel trap for such purposes. Given that the habitat conditions have not changed and that the cats removed will no longer be there to prevent new unsterilized cats to invade the place, it will be a matter of time before new cats will arrive on site. Certainly the administration of the Hotel would have preferred to have a sterile and healthy colony rather than an unsterilized colony, with all the drawbacks associated with procreation. I count on your reflection on the suffering inflicted on these animals, and hope that you will take steps to ensure that this procedure will not happen again.
