There was a post earlier from Dawn Marie about how Disney is not being very accommodating to a child with a disability. Im the other half of the family and I cannot believe the harshness and insensitivity of many of you who commented. As full details about the childs disability are hardly anyones business, a brief explanation entails a nearly 13 year old who weighs 50 pounds, is wheel chair bound, and had many health issues. Since day one of our 8 day trip here, weve had numerous daily issues surrounding everything from transportation to ride access to misinformation from cast members and guest relations. One hand does not seem to know what the other is doing and many solutions offered have either not worked or are denied to us when trying to access them. When an issue arises, there have been some helpful and some not so helpful cast members. I personally have spent several hours in total with guest relations trying to come up with solutions to our concerns to little avail. Regarding the transportation system, weve encounter several 90 minute to 2 hour waits due to limited wheelchair capacity on busses. So please, the next time some of you jump to conclusions and attack someone, please consider were just a family trying to have a memorable vacation. If you never have to encounter these issues because this is not your reality, count your blessings.
