There was a time in my life when I would have looked at this old - TopicsExpress

There was a time in my life when I would have looked at this old truck and seen an eye sore…just a bunch of rusted out metal with broken and missing parts taking up space. Today, that is not how I see this truck at all!! Today, I see a beautiful truck that worked hard and earned it’s retirement well. Today, I can feel the nervous energy of a young lad taking his left foot and pushing in the clutch as he struggles to apply just the right amount of pressure to the gas pedal with his right foot while simultaneously shifting the transmission into 2nd gear. Today, I can hear the voice of a loving parent reassuring him he’ll get the hang of it as they move a little closer across the seat in a show of support. Today, I can smell and taste the fresh dirt flying in the air as the young lad successfully makes the connection and takes off down an old dirt road on his first of many journeys. Today, I can visualize the life and times of this beautiful old truck because today, I see it through the eyes of my fellow photographer, Jill Murders. You see, Jill has a gift of seeing beauty and life in things that are broken, worn out and abandoned and I believe the world would be a better place if more people could see things through the eyes of her soul. Thank you Jill for teaching me to see beyond what appears to be forgotten...this beautys for you!
