There was a time when the title Professional Photographer seemed to hold some merit in the professional world - these days it seems almost laughable because everyone is doing it. Who wouldnt want to - its a blast. With the new digital world; however, it has allowed for extreme price cutting especially for those just starting...We all start somewhere I know - I did that! What makes me so sad are those out there that KNOW they are undercutting those of us that are trying to put food on our tables because we like to Rip people off or are Greedy This is something I am very passionate about - perhaps those that use those words dont fully understand WHY we charge what we charge - and Im sure there are those that just dont care - these people I know I will never get through to or be able to change! I just feel like we should be a united front rather than constantly fighting against each other! Please value yourself! This article is AMAZING! It shares a post from a client/bride that doesnt seem to fully understand why fees are the way they are and a photographers breakdown and response. I believe people need to be educated about what is involved in our business, both client and fellow photographer alike.
