There was a training room in Shaolin Temple. It contained 24 Bronze Horses that could fight. Each horse took a different stance and each one possessed awesome power. Among the many different kung fu techniques in Shaolin, such as the "lane of wooden men", "the 18 Bronze Men", "the 36 Mohan Boxers and many others; most were mastered by the majority of the disciples, who then went forth and taught them. However, the technique of the 24 Bronze horses was extremely difficult. It had been established by the Shaolin 7th Ancestor. And only 2 men had ever survived an encounter with these 24 Bronze horses. The horses were so powerful that those who ventured against them were either killed outright or severely wounded. Consequently, all Shaolin students were banned from studying this branch kung fu. And the practice hall containing the 24 horses was sealed. No one on pain of expulsion from Shaolin Temple was allowed to enter, and so the technique of the 24 Bronze horses passed into legend.
