There was much to learn at Problogger but something which really resonated with me was a piece of advice. I cant remember the exact quote or even who said it, but it was said more than once. Surround yourself with like minded people. We are who we surround ourselves with. I met the best bunch of women at the conference: smart, witty, snort inducing, app conquerers who reminded me that I need to think about who I surround myself with. More giggles, less downers. More optimism, less self doubt. In the expat world this is definitely true, if youre hanging out with someone who is MISERABLE about their location remember to be a friend and supportive but dont let them drag you down. Once again - we are who we surround ourselves with. If theres something you think you can do or would like to do but no-one seems to understand you - go and find someone who does.
