There was one of those poignant moments today. When I left the vet there was an old farmer guy and his obviously very old dog sitting on the grass. He was gently rubbing the dogs head, but his own head was bowed. I told him how beautiful his dog was, and he looked up, his eyes full of tears I asked how old, and he told me about 12 or so, and that he wasnt doing so well. Tears were rolling down his cheeks, and he said, Hes had a good life, he just aint doing so good now. I had no words, but only could mutter, He looks like he has been happy. I walked away, and was so sad. Vt farmers arent given to emotional expressions, so I realized how dear this dog was to him. So today, hold your dogs a little closer for a moment, and be thankful for having you baby this one more day.
