There were three girls and one boy in our family. Both my sisters were girly girls, but I was a born tomboy and wherever my daddy was, thats where I would be found. I liked mowing the yard, or feeding the animals, or anything else that had to do with being outside. My mom tried to teach me the things a girl needed to know, like cooking etc, but I wanted no part of it. One day my mom caught me inside and told me to make the cornbread for supper, so I grudgingly put the skillet on the stove to heat the grease up, then I snuck outside to go find daddy. I didnt think another thought about it. When I headed to the barn there was a HUGE snake laying across the path and when I told my dad, he called the rest to come see it. As we were standing there looking at it (dead by then), my sister shouted, FIRE FIRE!! We turned to look and the kitchen was on fire!!! We all ran in and daddy put it out....the cornbread skillet had got too hot and caught the curtains on fire!!! I dont remember my mom trying to get me to cook anything else after that day! :D
