There will be THP Drivers License checkpoint somewhere along Highway 70 today and a sobriety checkpoint somewhere along Central Pike in Wilson County tonight. They will be conducting them in the surrounding counties all weekend. Info on local police roadblocks is scarce this year, but you can be sure they will be out in force! Police will really be cracking down on the Move Over law this weekend as well. Remember the law will be out in force this weekend on area lakes and the river as Tennessees water recreation season officially kicks off today. So traffic on Maddox Simpson, especially near the fairgrounds, will be crazy. The LPD is going to be on them like a duck on a junebug, so be careful around that area!
