There would have never been a financial deficit for the Postal Service if the bright light bulbs of Congress had not forced the Postal Service to pay a 75 year retirement trust fund all in advance. Imagine, postal service employees -- not yet born -- already have their retirement funds in trust. And it may cost the bankruptcy of the U.S. Postal Service in order to get it done.
