Theres a Lot to Be Suspicious About On August 17, 2014, the New York Times published a précis that outlined the second autopsy examination of Michael Brown — performed by retired New York City Medical Examiner, Michael Baden, and forensic pathologist assistant, Shawn Parcells. According to the Times, on Sunday. August 17, Dr. Baden flew to St. Louis, Missouri (at the behest of Benjamin Crump and Browns family) and performed this second autopsy at Austin A. Layne Mortuary. The Times reports: Dr. Michael M. Baden, the former chief medical examiner for the City of New York, who flew to Missouri on Sunday at the family’s request to conduct the separate autopsy, adding, The two medical experts conducted the four-hour examination Sunday at the Austin A. Layne Mortuary in St. Louis. Benjamin L. Crump, a lawyer for Mr. Brown’s family who paid their travel expenses, hired them. However on August 15, 2014, Daryl Parks (Crumps legal partner) was asked by news correspondents Sir, did you say that you conducted that second autopsy? Parks gives a declarative statement that will force us to reconsider the dynamics of this case. Because at timestamp: 13:00 minutes (video), the attorney thusly responds Oh, yes. Its COMPLETED. Its DONE and we will talk about that (second autopsy) later. We are not answering any questions about the second autopsy at this time. We will at *the* time we designate it. Lets put this in deep perspective: From a historians standpoint. These two events cannot fit the definition of historically reliable testimony. Which day was Browns second autopsy examination performed? Was Browns body examined on August 17, as the Times report? Or was Browns autopsy carried out on a day that preceded the Times published statement, as Parks declares? This is a not a minor discrepant account. This is a major, indeed, irreconcilable discrepancy. However these two diametrically opposed accounts doesnt (even) begin to address the underlying dynamics of what actually [h]appened on the day that Officer Darrin Wilson killed Michael Brown. So while there are reports that are contrastably different — I suggest however that we withhold any prejudgments until and only — after additional data becomes available. Note to the reader: Below in the first three comments are articles from the New York Times, FOX News, and MSNBC. These articles attest to the observations I note in the Times. Moreover, perhaps, these glaringly and staggeringly unreal notations can provide the impetus — indeed the motivation to build bridges and cross ever-widening chasms. Because I suspect some of us accept whole-hog what various news outlets release to the public. And this misguided acceptance oftentimes will lead to clash and tension: at the political scale. fox2now/2014/08/15/live-updates-brown-family-addresses-the-media-from-ferguson-police-headquarters/
