Theres been a lot of talk late about bias in admissions in colleges and universities. And many people are arguing for a merit based admissions and that the most objective measure of academic success is the SAT or the ACT. Well, when I was in college and grad school. I served on several admissions committees to screen college applicants. Using the Verbal (English) / Math metrics of the SAT, we developed 4 categories for evaluating applicants and their future prospects. Here are the categories: 1. High math, low English: Engineer 2. Low math, high English: Lawyer. 3. Low math, low English: Politician, and 4. High math, high English: Suicide by 21.. or Asians! Where did you fit in????
