Theres been a rising demand from the ruling party fans as of recent to purge or totally restrict the work of NGOs, citing the reason that they are corrupt and working for vested interests. There might be few NGOs whose role might be questioned, but a call to purge NGOs would not only be a great boon to crony capitalism but also a threat to liberal democracy. We live in a society where working for profit alone is highly appreciated but associating for a cause is termed as nautanki.
