Theres been plenty of KOH prep going on! Its funny, when youre not too far behind schedule, you find more things that need to be addressed before you leave for the race. There are really only a few things on Pokey that I really didnt like as far as serviceability. One was the driver side firewall. I figured I could make it one piece, because the only time you need to pull it is when you need to get to the oil filter adapter or get the header off. Its not convenient to remove because you need to move the ECU, wiring, fuses, brake lines, and the steering shaft runs through it! Coincidentally, Ive had a few issues with the oil filter adapter and an exhaust leak I want to fix! I cut the firewall in half and made a new cover for the steering shaft hole. Now the lower panel comes off quickly, by unbolting a handful of screws that thread into nutcerts. Yay! I guess my headers should have used thicker flanges because theyre warped a bit. Using a machined surface to check for flatness, I sanded all of the flanges flat. They probably arent perfect, but its way better than it was. Im pretty confident its good enough to seal up.
