Theres no two ways about it - today was a tough day. With temperatures up to 37 degrees and high humidity, it was a real challenge on the road. In my relatively short stint of 10km with Dave, I certainly lost a few litres of sweat and a couple of kgs! Im hardly whinging though, as he knocked out another 77km and will attempt to do the same again tomorrow as we make our way towards Casino. We finished just after 9:00pm, with a break between 12:30pm and 4:00pm. The big lesson learnt from today was that we should have given another hour or even two to that break, as it actually was the hottest part of the day upon resumption. Dave remains positive and despite some general fatigue is feeling good, and in time we will look back on days like today as another stepping stone in preparing for far greater challenges which lay ahead. ~ Leesy ~
