Theres only three things that keep Abrahamic theists holding onto believe, and they stem from one thing: Indoctrination. Heres my quick and easy 3 step program to your suppressed deconversion. But before we get to that lets look at the three factors that make your belief: 1. Unable to cope with death/the possibility of never seeing family again- the idea of an afterlife brings comfort; security blanket= gods 2. Willful ignorance to belief shattering facts- ignoring proof; filling gaps- keeping comfort= retaining gods 3. Fear of punishment: triggers memory in belief in heavenly afterlife; clearly the chosen alternative= god must exist so that I may again see my family and bestowed with all my answers, instead of burning forever. So when all three factors come together, thats what its all about. Now, how do theists get past this and why would they want to? They wouldnt, their belief is a sweet deal to them, a nightmare for others though. But heres the steps anyhow: 1. At least accept the possibility this might just be your one and only life. {Living on Bronze Age writings of a promised afterlife with family (if theyre lucky or at least not gay) couldnt be further from a guarantee. What you do know for sure to be true, is this life. Cut the cord} 2. If something has been proven true by scientifically peer-reviewed evidence or has empirical data, its ok to accept it. Do so. {Being a science denier has never helped anyone. Admitting we dont know something is ok- attributing it with certainty to the supernatural is not. Science is simply a tool for understanding and will work relentlessly to get it right.} 3. Fear is not the same as respect, you have to stop believing in and worshipping tyrannical deities because of their just-as-empty promised arch villains. {Human morality of a caliber much higher than any Abrahamic god existed before they were ever written about, who are these idle gods to judge?} If you do these three things, the forced (without a single choice) upon our kids- this godspell that is indoctrination, can end with you. Live happy, without fear, godless and moral.
