These are my grandparents with their five children. It was they who brought the family to Lancing in 1927 from Brighton by purchasing two plots in Grinstead Lane - now nos. 69 and 71. no 71 was named Macleay after the ship on which my grandfather served in the WW1. No. 69 was not built until 1947. It became the home of the little girl 2nd from the left, my aunt who has appeared in several posts by the yew trees at the top of the Manor.
