These days people are suffering a great temptation to protect themselves in every way possible. If someone makes you feel less comfortable than you like- theyre labeled toxic and we are encouraged to cut them out of our lives. This temptation to relieve oneself of all discomfort is a clever trick played on humanity. A trick that, when successful, will rob us all of love & wisdom. We need discomfort. We need challenging relationships and experiences. Truth isnt always comfortable but if we face it with LOVE we grow from it every time. I dont regret the years of discomforts I went thru for my children or my marriage and I hope others will think twice before protecting themselves by avoiding truth. No you dont have to deal with toxic people but when you do you get to see how strong you really are. Christians should also remember that the bible tells us in Mark 16:18 they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly poison it shall NOT hurt them... So what biblical reasons would we have to fear or protect ourselves from TOXIC people? Im not suggesting all us Christians should lay in the freeway & expect God to protect us from hitting squashed by a car- but when He tells us to care about other people, have fellowship, honor our parents and care for our neighbors & family- He has to have known that many of those people would be toxic- the scripture tells me that He protects us from them. Blah blah blah Love rules TRUTH saves!
