These past few weeks, have been tough on me. Ive lost a good brother Nam Vet who had a heart of gold, and smile bigger than the world...... Joe Martin. Im glad you are finally home brother. Then my Uncle Jim, who live a full life and to whom I will be eternally indebted, for the many lessons he taught me about life, living, love, and being a man. He was for all my life since age 8 my father figure, Rest in Peace Jim. And then a shipmate, who I knew for a few years, though we also briefly served together. I never knew him then, but in recent years, we became close friends, and we shared common beliefs in always showing our great pride and honor in having served in the greatest Navy of the world, fair winds to you Wayne. And now most recently I learned that another shipmate whom I did not serve with, but we both served on a great attack air craft carrier, the USS Hancock cva-19. Larry Jones had just taken the helm as President of our ships association. He was planning our next reunion which will occur in 2016. Now he too has been taken from us, to complete another mission and called home by our Lord and Father. Larrys sudden departure, I am sure when I say I am shocked I speak for all who knew him. He will be missed by all, and also I am sure somewhere up in heaven he Wayne, John Finn, and all my other shipmates who served aboard Hanna, are drinking tall cold glasses of San Miguel, and telling tales of yesterdays adventures. Rest easy all of you, and thank you for your friendships, and service.
