These past two days I have seen like 4 babies not properly put in a carseat :( and I dont know how to say something without sounding like a know it all. With that said here are a few pointers Ive learned from carseat specialist: -No inserts, covers, strap covers, that did not come with the carseat or come from the manufacture and is crash rate tested for your specific carseat model. Any extras cancel out any warranty and can cause the baby to be harmed in an accident -The straps need to be tightened, if the baby can hang their head its too loose. Look up the pinch test to figure out if yours in tight enough -The chest plate needs to be level with their armpits. Its to protect their chest/heart, not their belly button -Babies need to be REAR FACING until 1, next year the law well be until age 2. It is recommended to rear face until age 4! It the case of a crash, your babies neck and be extremely hurt or break from the force of being pushed forward. Rear facing makes their head go against the back of the seat causing less injuries If you need any help or advice join the group carseat for littles they can even help you chose the best carseat/booster to suite your babies height, weight, car, and budget.
