These were some of the guys I worked with at KCPX. (I couldnt find a photo of the radio station on google, though theres one of me in the studio, behind the mic, taken by my brother Del.) These guys were all originally at a station called KNAK, back in the 1960s. The Beach Boys used to play Salt Lake City a lot, and the jocks and station owner would pick up the guys at the airport (or so I was told). One time the guys in the band arrived from California, and the station owner wasnt there. They asked where he was. They were told that hed just bought a T-Bird, and his daughter was out driving around in it. He was trying to track her down. So, Mike Love turned to Brian Wilson (or so the story goes) and said something to the effect of She got her daddys car and shes cruisin to the hamburger stand, now. She forgot all about the library like she told her old man, now... It could be a true story. The Beach Boys loved Salt Lake City. They even wrote a song about it. https://youtube/watch?v=Lv89vHZwrSI
