The mythological goddess Diana was worshipped by virtually the entire population. But Pauls preaching “persuaded and turned away much people” from their idolatry. Still, a massive public uproar took place in the local theatre, as multitudes chanted, “Great is Diana of the Ephesians.” Providentially, the townclerk silenced the crowd and sent them home. Idols have eyes that see not, ears that hear not. Our God is in the heavens. He hears. He sees. Seek after Him. - - - Acts 19:26 - “They be no gods, which are made with hands.”
