They all hushed around five year old Manuel.His aunties,the neighbours,even his own pregnant, weeping mother.His father had died,they said.In a small village like Chandor,in Goa everyone knows everyone.Augustus, had been an excellent carpenter,a good husband and a regular church goer.The funeral was filled with mourners and festooned with flowers and hysterical sobbing.No one had expected Augustus to die so young.It was due to a hit-and-run Motorcycle accident.Nothing was known about the man him-except that he wore a hat and rode a black motorcycle. That night Manuel went missing.Search parties were organised but by the second day he was still not found.Some villagers later said they saw a boy walking with the village Rahkaon*.Some said they saw a boy flying in white with spirits. However everyone in the village confirmed what happened the next day-they found Manuel sitting among the rotting flowers on his fathers coffin and wickedly grinning.An eye for an eye,he muttered swaying drunkenly...Somewhere near Chandor a man in a hat riding a black Enfield fell in a ditch and broke his neck,dying instantly.The coffin then cracked,and not so far away Manuels Mother lost the baby in a rivulet of blood. #shortcreepystories *Rahkaon is a ghostly village keeper.He is a huge man seen at night in chains and is said to have a nasty temper.
