They say every time you cut down a tree, you ruin an ecosystem. I have a weeping popular in my back yard which is covered in aphids. There is a redbelly sapsucker that nests in the tree each year. He pecks holes that drip sap. So the hornets and flies and one tiny western squirrel come to drink the sap. And when the sap sucker babies are old enough, they come out and eat the hornets. Today the cat tried to eat the squirrel. A circle of life in one tiny area.
