Things I have learned from graduation parties these past 2 - TopicsExpress

Things I have learned from graduation parties these past 2 months: 1. An AP score of a 4 or 5 does not necessarily mean that your student will test out of a class...most colleges are requiring that students take their own version of Chemistry or Calculus no matter the score on the AP exams. 2. Individual placement tests given by the colleges are the best determining factor in what classes will be recommended, as they are geared specifically to the institution. 3. Chardon is nearly the only highly ranked school district that is sending students on to higher learning without having provided them the opportunity for computer and technology courses. (The ONLY school district out of over 300 represented at one school. Shameful.) 4. Our Chardon students are being highly prepared in math and sciences. I believe that out of about 30 students who took the AP Chemistry exam, 20 scored either a 4 or 5. 5. The cost of stopping for a Starbucks every morning before class is the equivalent of the cost of most meal plans for the entire school year. (Ouch!) Any others?
