Things I should not say 4 (This one is really, really bad, so you better stop here, if you did not like the previous ones). Israel is the bloody reaper, but the Arab and Islamic regimes have always been the cultivators of Palestinian corpses-to-be. Let not our tears be water to this bloody harvest. In The Holocaust Industry: Reflections on the Exploitation of Jewish Suffering, the son of Jewish survivors and the rhetorically endowed Finkelstein mounts a damning case of the use and abuse by Israel, the Jewish Lobby and their American allies of the Jewish Shoa. The unfathomable sufferings of those who perished as well as those who survived the Nazi genocide, were harnessed into the sleek, efficient state of art machine to mobilize political support, first for the creation of the Hebrew state on the ruins of the Arab Palestine, then for the same state to colonize and oppress the same stateless Arab population by dispossessing them from their lands and identity. Edward Said wrote also a great work “The Politics of Dispossession. Few if any, and especially no leftists (not of they ever read Marx or Sarte), will doubt that human suffering when it is codified and recycled as mass ideology, a discourse, such as the one on the Jewish Holocaust, it is done to exploit this suffering for a political aim. Tragically, few, if any, will raise their voice, especially now, to tell that there is a mirror-image of the Holocaust Industry = The Gaza Martyrdom or the Exploitation of the Palestinian Suffering. This discourse uses the raw material of Palestinian suffering in the last 70 years, their bloodied faces, their dismembered corpses, their howls and their anguished cries and their powerless despair, in order to transform this immense suffering into an ideology exploited as cynically as the Holocaust Industry. The exploiters of the Palestinian raw suffering material has been traditionally processed mainly by Arabs in order to create an antithesis of the Jewish claim to monopoly on suffering and to bestow legitimacy on their claims to regain their lands. The Palestinians Martyrdom was used and abused first by radical nationalists, Nasser, Kaddafi and co, NOT TO LIBERATE Palestine, but to get rid of the liberal pro-western monarchies. These liberators to be of Palestine build on the ruins of the previously limited, formal democracies their bloody dictatorships, some of which still last until today. Later on, the Palestinian Cause and its Liberation was exploited by the more radical leftist liberation movements, such as the PLO (seconded by all the western revolutionaries a la Carlos and Denmark’s own petty Blikinggade Banden) in terrorising the world in order to put Palestine on the map. These revolutionary lovers of Palestine sunk deeper, first into the swamp of sectarian wars in Lebanon, Yemen and elsewhere or went on into being the lackeys of Petro-dollars, where Palestinians killed each other, or were killed by brotherly Arabs more than they ever killed Zionists. Later on, even more radical, Islamist movements and regimes, a la Khomeini, or Qatar, the Patron saint of Taliban and every sword-clenching, neck-sawing hand, or even the Islamist (no laughing) Turkey, all these separately or jointly chipped in, trained and financed the latest flag-bearer of the Palestinian Martyrdom: Hamas, aka the Islamic Resistance. The radicalization and Islamization of the Palestinian Martyrdom, al-qadiya, and the displacement of its exploiters from the near border of Palestine to the further outlines of the Middle East can best be seen by how little impact the latest round of violence has triggered in the Arab countries surrounding Israel, the so-called “frontiers States”. There have been more demonstrators on the Parisian Boulevards, then in the streets of Beirut, Damascus, Cairo, Baghdad, and even …RAMALLAH! Part of the explanation is naturally caused by the traumatic, near-war situations most Arab countries are experiencing now, but the important part is …that the Arab exploiters, those tycoons deciding the rise and fall of the Palestinian Martyrdom in the stock markets have been victim to a hostile takeover and that their investment in this industry is being now exploited by others. Asad, Nasrallah, Iran, Saudi Arabia, even Egypt have had a hand in backing the various Palestinian factions and in maintaining the discourse of their Martyrdom as a tool in their foreign and national policy toolbox. Now, that the Cause is identified with Hamas, the Palestinian chapter of Muslim Brotherhood, in league with Qatar and Turkey, the major Arab exploiters feel that any, support, except lip service, of the Palestinian Martyrdom will be like watering the trees of bad conscience whose fruits are already bought by their competitors, the Qataris, the International Muslim Brotherhood and Erdogan. That is why we no longer talk about Palestine, but about Gaza and its PEOPLE, sha3b gazah! Because God forbid that we should remember that there is another Palestine, President Abbas Palestine. The Palestine, which does not send missile against Israel, but most importantly, the Palestine that does not therefore, produce the raw material needed for the extractive industry: bodies, skulls, limbs and preferably those of infants. Israel is the bloody reaper, but the Arab and Islamic regimes have always been the cultivators of Palestinian corpses-to-be. Lastly, while the discourse of the Palestinian Cause, was ONE among many rallying calls for the international left-wing movements in the happy days of third world solidarity, together with Vietnam, South Africa, Chile etc., now the Palestinian Martyrdom is the sole cause. The western Leftwing has lost almost all its cause, but most importantly its soul. Even in the worst economic crisis of the capitalist system, all socialist and social democratic parties in government opted for the same strategies as the ones dictated by the holy, untouchable MARKET. These socialists are all clients to be for the Goodman and Sachs of the Market, as the Danish socialists have shown. When in this moral and political wilderness, suddenly appears, the old, well-known cause of their youth, these middle-aged leftist politicians, well-established in their villas with mega mortgages to the same banks owned by Goldman and Sachs, together with their new followers envisage nothing less than a Christ-delivered salvation. Here, the smug and triumphant Rightwing can be dragged down from their post cold war victorious thrones, and they again can regain their eternal throne: the moral higher ground. Once again, they will show humanity the path to salvation. Not the one leading into egalitarian paradise, (no don’t think of the Khmer Rouge), nor to Castro’s Paradise Island, or to Mugabe’s Luxury Safari-land. But into the salvaging barricades! At present, the Industry of Gaza Martyrdom most of all is functioning as a safe-boat to the sinking international program of the Muslim Brotherhood. It is also an absolution water to wash off the sins of corrupted power which Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood have been smutted with in the last years when they came to power. Their losses of popularity and power, in Egypt, in Tunisia, in Yemen, in Syria and even in Libya, either by election or by military coups, are to be compensated for by an ideological blood-transfusion. Preferable young, even infantile, blood transfusion. Every drop of blood, even that of their own children, is an elixir of life to their agonizing century old project for “astaza al-alamiya”, international leadership, or at least a Jurassic Park of it in the strip of Gaza. It is now when the ploughed land is scarred with Israel’s missiles and bombs that these cultivators of corpses and martyrs will saw their seed of hatred, of divinely ordained martyrdom, using the fresh blood of the civilian Gazans to water simple minds to see themselves as the chosen and the right ones to rule, or to die trying to rule. Israel is the bloody reaper, but the Arab and Islamic regimes have always been the cultivators of Palestinian corpses-to-be. Let not our tears be water to this bloody harvest. Let us cut the tree of hatred.
