One-third of the nation’s farm produce is grown in the California Central Valley, composed of Sacramento Valley in the north and San Joaquin Valley in the south — and the deep water cuts mean that more than a million acres of crop land will remain unplanted. Ninety-eight percent of California is now in Extreme Drought, and some scientists predict it could last as long as a hundred years.
