Things are going very well at the Boston Warm Day Center at Old South Church. The atmosphere has been peaceful. Guests have rested, read, slept, chatted. Weve gone through a lot of coffee and snacks! And weve filled 44 storage lockers with peoples possessions, so far. This is a HUGE service weve been able to offer, and people have been so thankful for it. People have been asking us what we need! We are so glad you asked. FOOD. Sandwiches, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, baked goods, granola bars, juice boxes, canned food with pop top lids PILLOWCASES and FLEECE BLANKETS for the nap room $5.00 Charlie Cards (MBTA passes) to help guests get to appointments and job interviews HYGIENE KITS in ziplock bags, including items like… • soap • toothbrush • toothpaste • washcloth or hand towel • deodorant • comb • shampoo • tissues • hand sanitizers • feminine hygiene products WARM HATS, GLOVES, MITTENS, AND SCARVES And of course CASH. Each storage locker costs $40. And we have 3 staff people to pay. The morning offering will now be received. :)
