Things just got slightly complicated. So, you may remember my picture on Julians reaction to the stem cells. Well, I received a phone call and email from Dr. Mosse today to call her ASAP. Never a good thing, well come to find out that 1/2 million of those stem cells that Julian received were unviable (not capable of working properly). Basically, bad stem cells, hence the reaction. His body knew and hated them. We need a total of 1 million cells to get his body to engraph or produce the required platelets, white blood cells, neutrophils, red blood cells in order to improve his immune system. Julian is needing a lot of platelet/blood transfusions to keep him healthy. We need to leave for CHOP on Sunday in order to get more stem cells on Monday. It is HIGHLY important that he gets these cells so that his bone marrow can be healthy enough to qualify for clinical trials and this needs to happen by Sept 24th scans. Trials only have a minimum number of spots available and if we cant confirm a slot, we might not get another chance. It becomes tricky because Bray is starting Kindergarten soon and it is not so easy to tote him around. Momma is feeling the stress. I need to clone me :(
