Things that I learned from Moksha that help anyone with chronic - TopicsExpress

Things that I learned from Moksha that help anyone with chronic illnesses or their caregivers (or just the general pursuit of being awesome). Having a post doctor visit ritual is important. For Moksha and I that was getting a turkey hot dog (hold the bun), for her to enjoy. Followed by a trip to the park. She would snack on her treat, and soak up the sun, and breath in the breezes, and put all of the unpleasant stuff behind her. There are always good and bad days. Really enjoy the good days and fill them with memories. On bad days, do whatever you need to do to feel better. No judgement. And make sure, even on those bad days, especially on those bad days, do at least one of your favorite things. For moksha that meant a long walk or bike ride in her trailer, a longer trip to the park on her favorite yellow picnic blanket, riding in the car with all the windows down, a favorite snack, etc... a few of your favorite things can do wonders for your spirit. If youre tired of pills, and special restrictive diets, and needles, just take a deep breath, get it over with, and remind yourself youre doing it for the good days, and so you can get back to living life the way you want to (burying your pills in a chocolate almond croissant never hurts either). And one of the biggest and best lessons I learned with Moksha (and me) is that its ok to remove negative people, negative influences, and non supportive voices from your life. Dont feel guilty about it, dont back tread, move on, and just keep swimming.
