Things to remember when traveling back in time... “Fair enough I guess. Hey we had better get a room or something so we have a place to change,” Ronnie stated. “How about over there?” Sandy said while pointing to a two story building right down the street with a sign saying “Huntington Inn” on it. “Oh wow, this is really weird,” Ronnie blurted out. “Which part?” “My eleven year old self is a couple of hundred miles away being a kid.” “Yeah, I am only four and my dad is still alive. We would be at the lake,” Sandy answered back. “I would love to go and check me out.” “Sorry but that is my job no matter what year it is,” Sandy answered to her husband’s daydream. “Here we are,” Ronnie said as they found themselves in front of the Huntington Inn. “What are you waiting for?” Sandy asked a reasonable question. “Uh, we have not gone into one Inn in the last few days that didn’t have some crazy supernatural dead guy inviting us to enjoy our stay at the Twilight Zone Hotel.” “Yeah and that was in 2012.” “Oh come on we’ll be fine,” Sandy said taking Ronnie by the hand and walking in the door. They stepped into a nice, clean and well maintained foyer which featured the furniture of the day and a check-in counter complete with a normal clerk dressed in appropriate clothing. There were a few wicker chairs with small tables and a ‘Life” magazine from July 1965. There was a picture of John F. Kennedy on the cover and a caption saying, “A thousand days.” Camelot had ended but the legend went on. The two approached the counter. “Afternoon folks, like a room?” The clerk said this while giving the two a once over due mostly to Sandy’s attire. “Yes please,” Ronnie said, to get on with it. “Okay, it’s $12 a night and you will need to fill out this registration card.” Ronnie, never having the patience for things like this just handed the card to Sandy as he pulled out his wallet to get the money. (I sure hope he doesn’t look too closely at the date on this twenty.) Sandy filled out the card honesty with their address in Illinois figuring it was likely around back then so wouldn’t necessarily give them away. “Here you go Barney,” Sandy said, giving the receptionist the registration card. ‘Barney’ took the card and the twenty without actually looking at them and brought out a key. They were home free it would seem, Home free until… “Now all I need is your driver’s license.” (Uh oh), they both thought...
