Town Hall: How the United States Supreme Court Marriage Decisions Impacts You On Wednesday, June 26, 2013, the United States Supreme Court issued rulings on the constitutionality of Proposition 8, the California referendum banning gay marriage, and a key section of the Defense of Marriage Act, the federal law that blocks legally married gay couples from receiving federal benefits. These decisions will go down in history as two of the landmark cases in the fight for equality for LGBT Americans. But how does this case impact Pennsylvanians?
