Third Avenue Village Hosts Cars, Concerts and more Saturdays in September Beginning this Saturday, September 7, the Third Avenue Village Association (TAVA) welcomes both auto and audio enthusiasts to the Village for its Village Vibes & Classic Car Series. TAVA took two of its most popular summer event series and combined them to create an entire day of fun for both new and returning visitors. Every Saturday in September, the public is invited to stroll the Avenue from 2 to 4 p.m. where classic cars from clubs throughout San Diego County will be on display. Following each car show, a local band will take the stage at Memorial Park Bowl, performing a free, open-air concert from 4 to 6 p.m. Several nearby Village eateries will be offering specials to either entice patrons to dine inside their restaurant or take meals to go to enjoy picnic-style at the concerts. Saturday music features will include Rockabilly Swing, Latin, Rock & Roll and Reggae so there is something for everyone. The opening concert this Saturday will feature a swing dance contest during the concert’s intermission which is open to the public. Ten swinging couples will compete for a prize and the title of Best Swing Dance Duo. Contest registration will take place during the first 30 minutes of the concert. Shimmy down to the newly renovated Third Avenue Village each Saturday this month for cars, music, shopping, refreshments and more. The Village Vibes & Classic Car Series is made possible by a grant from the City of Chula Vista Performing and Visual Arts Fund as well as a sponsorship from Fuddruckers. Media coverage donated by 105.7 The Walrus and San Diego City Beat. For more information on the Village Vibes & Classic Car Series, visit thirdavenuevillage.
