Third-ranked Union City (1A) clinched the District 14A championship in resounding fashion with its eighth consecutive win — a 28-7 triumph at No. 6 Trenton (2A) Friday night. Fullback Ricky Henry pounded Peabody for 191 yards and three touchdowns and UC rushed for 457 total, dominating time of possession while limiting the Tide offense to less than 200 total yards. In the only other game involving an Obion County team Friday night, Raheem Flowers threw for two touchdowns and ran for one more in accounting for 224 yards of offense, and Stevonski Wilkes rushed for 168 yards and two scores as Lake County put away South Fulton early in a 42-16 win in their District 14A showdown Friday night at SF. Flowers was 6-of-11 for 92 yards passing and had eight carries for 132 yards, scoring on an 89-yard run. Wilkes scored on runs of 47 and 44 yards as the Falcons led 30-0 after one quarter and 42-0 at the half. ... Skylar Grissom had a five-yard TD run and Pete Winters scored on a 16-yard carry for the Red Devils in the second half, which was played with a running clock.
