Thirteen years ago at about this moment I held my new baby boy for the first time. Now Im a mom to a TEENAGER! How have I gone so quickly from rocking him to sleep to buying him video games and $100 shoes? He used to crawl around these floors on hands and knees, now hes big enough to vacuum and mop...without being told! Id feed him bananas and yogurt in his high chair, but somehow he has learned to make chili, or sloppy joes and macaroni cheese for the family dinner. Cooper used to ride in his stroller around the streets of Romeo, and now hes riding his bike to his dads car wash to help him dry cars. The funny thing is, I dont feel like Ive changed a bit in thirteen years, besides gaining some weight and some wrinkles. Hes a totally different person. Amazing. Happy Birthday,Cooper Beck. Im proud of who youve become. Im thankful that you are a clean freak like Grandpa Ray, that you like to help cook, and you do the laundry (like Grandma Sharon Krusac Maynard used to for us when you were little!). Im proud of how you helped coach the jr Bulldogs football team, and Im as disappointed as you are that you didnt make the 7th grade basketball team at RMS. I hope 13 is a lucky year for you, kiddo. I wuv ooze.
