This Anzac Day the Australian War Memorial encourages all Australians to remember the service and sacrifice of the courageous men and women who have served our country in all wars. This year we pay special tribute to those who have served in the recently concluded Afghanistan conflict. In remembering those who have served and the 40 men who lost their lives in Afghanistan we are running a series of YouTube videos detailing their service and sacrifice. The stories are told by those who served and their loved ones. Today’s story is told by Brigadier Dan McDaniel, a senior officer within the Australian special forces. He has seen the changes in Australias commitment to Afghanistan through deployments in 2001-02, 2007 and again in 2010.
