This August, August 27th will mark my 2 year Anniversary with Nucerity. I am so grateful that I made a choice, be it a hard one to do what was best for me and my family. I love building a business from home, but family comes first and if I am going to trade my time away from my family and the things that I love to do, I want to be compensated well. I now make more money in ONE week than I ever did in a full month with my former company of 7 years, even when I was at a VP level! Money is not everything, but life is just easier when you have it.. I know cause I have lived both with and without it! The hardest thing for me when I made a choice to leave was to realize that so many of the people that I worked alongside with, that I helped would literally disown me! I was not prepared for that, after all, we were friends. I have now realized that even though I was doing what was right for me and my family, they saw it as betraying them which is so sad cause none of them were paying my bills or watching my children for me when I was out doing 2-4 hour long “party”. ( Can honestly say that I do not miss that). I never ever saw myself ever leaving where I was... but after always feeling like I was rebuilding, putting in tonnes of hours for little return (after 7 years), you have to remember I used to do parties that would take a few hours plus so when you did the math (hours put in per month compared to a monthly cheque)... it was frustrating more than anything! People say you have to give it time, where you water the grass it will grow, and while yes that is true, you also have to look at some important things. You can have a product you love, there are lots of great products out there but if you don’t have the company and people to make the RIGHT decisions with you in mind, it doesn’t really matter. One of the things that attracted me to where I am today is that it is a privately owned, debt free company, has never had 5 cents of debt. The people are the most important, who does your corporate team answer to? You their partners or their shareholders or the banks that own them? Next you have to have an OUTSTANDING compensation plan, after all that is what will decide how you get paid. Some compensation plans almost penalize you for helping others succeed! I never knew any different before, it was my first experience with NWM, now I know that you need to be paid for the right efforts! When 4 other companies that are around a decade or more old copy your compensation plan to a “T”, you know you have got a good one! I love this industry, and I am not trying to bash any company but what floors me is when I see people for years trying to make a go of it and they are no further ahead, they actually are paying to be in a company cause it is costing them more in catalogues, business aides, demos, samples etc... it comes down to a company having great culture, the sense of belonging..which is important to have but some people get so caught up in it, I know cause I was one of those people, don’t get me wrong, we have AMAZING culture but it has to make sense to! You can love your race horse, but if it is not taking you to the finish line, you have got to find a new race horse! You, your family, your future are what is the most important. I love being paid what I am worth and I know that the best is yet to come!
