This August I participated in the Seattle 48 Hour Film - TopicsExpress

This August I participated in the Seattle 48 Hour Film competition, with a team of film students from my college. We succeeded in creating a 7 minute short film in under 3 days. This was my 2nd time being a part of the 48 Hour project, and my first time directing a short film. I am amazed at what we were able to accomplish, both in terms of the quality of our film content and the challenges we were able to overcome. I am extremely proud of this film, and I am humbled and honored that I was able to be a part of it and to assume an essential role in its production. The film is titled: Kaja youtu.be/0AvlA4MX17o Our assigned genre for the competition was Film Noir. We chose to take some creative liberties and the result is a much more hybrid film that still aims toward Neo Noir at minimum. For the competition every film had to contain the following... Prop: Fly Swatter Character: Darin or Dana Stumme ^Occupation of: Message Therapist A line of Dialogue: No way, never again. Again I am incredibly proud of everyone on our team and seeing us accomplish real results is a dream fulfilled. I am eager to work with everyone again on new projects in the future, and Im excited to work with new people on future teams. Thanks to all the members of the Seattle 48 Hr Film team, Digital Filmmakers of Olympic College: Craig Allan, Andy Bergsagel, Ciara Sands, Fred Connelly, Kimi Ludvik, Cade Feldmeier, Devin Griswold, Giovanni Monroe, Reshelle Warren, Aaron Williams (Con Crete), Kyle Lear, Allison Brown (Aryss Astray), and thanks to Marian Rettig, and Bernadette Cuvalo. And very special thanks to the greatest Film instructors a ragtag bunch of college students could ask for: Phil Wilson, and Timothy Hagan. You taught me everything I know and that goes for a lot of us. The landscape for Digital Filmmaking and independent film production in the Northwest and abroad is changing irreversibly, for the better. What was once impossible and unreachable is quickly becoming conmonplace. #Filmmaking is undergoing a digital revolution, and it will never be the same. Truly honored to be here for this shift in the paradigm, and to finally be doing what I dreamed of as a child watching Star Wars on VHS tapes with my face melting in proximity to a now antiquated Television set. This is the #dream and I could not be more fulfilled than doing this with my life, right here, right now. And its only the beginning. Act I. I am in this for good. Digital Filmmaking at Olympic College is the place to be. After a month to breathe Im on a new team starting tomorrow, for a whole new film project competition. Making a short in 3 days with a host of cool new team members for the Gig Harbor 72 Hour Film Competition (#GHFF72). Onward, and into the magic. This is it.
