This Saturday we dropped our last payment in the mail and our car is officially paid off!!! We were truly fortunate that a family member was able to loan us the money and with a bit of belt tightening and cutting corners we were able to repay the loan in just over 2 months as agreed when we asked for the loan. The vehicle we purchased is in excellent condition save for the radiator which we will be replacing in the next month and compared to our van it sips gas which equals us spending 1/3 as much on gas each week. With a more reliable vehicle that is easier on gas we not only save money each week but will also be able to help out a local charity that is near and dear to our hearts even more with gathering and dropping off donations. Each time we knock something off our list of needs it lifts our spirits and reinforces our belief that we are doing something right. We arrived two years ago with little more than clothes, food and camping materials and have managed to barter, trade, and penny pinch our way to furnishing our home, buying a camper, car, cookware, 2 pups and somehow manage to make ends meet by a narrow margin. As a result of our good fortune and penny pinching ways we are able to give back and help others in our community a little more. Next items to knock off our list: radiator new glasses sewing machine then finalize divorce before looking at land We are hoping to be looking at land shortly after the new year. #LifeIsGood #OneStepAtATime #ThriftyIsNifty
