This Sunday, July 20, is GENEROSITY SUNDAY. One of the ways our congregation participates in outreach and social justice work is to designate one Sunday in each month as a Generosity Sunday. On these Sundays, we donate the offering to an organization or project that serves the community or the cause of social justice. The beneficiary this Sunday is the Prison University Project at Californias San Quentin Prison. The mission of the PUP is to provide excellent higher education programs to people incarcerated at San Quentin State Prison; create a replicable model for such programs; and stimulate public awareness and meaningful dialogue about higher education and criminal justice in California.
