This Sunday in Abbotsford, a memorial service will be held in honour of all of the peace and law enforcement officers in British Columbia who have served and sacrificed. This is a significant event for our police forces, and will honour the fallen officers, as well as the family and communities they left behind. The public is encouraged to attend the event, so come show your support, watch the parade, and listen to the somber intonations of provincial police pipe bands, including Vancouvers. More than 90 law enforcement officers have given their lives in the line of duty in British Columbia, and the Vancouver Police Department has witnessed the loss of sixteen on-duty officers since its inception in 1886. You can read their stories here: vancouverpolicemuseum.ca/fallenofficers/in_the_line.htm
