This Thanksgiving I dont want to be thankful for all the successes - TopicsExpress

This Thanksgiving I dont want to be thankful for all the successes ive accomplished, but for all the struggles and obstacles that got in the way. From coming from the Philippines not knowing any english, to being outcasted by your peers because of your accent. Growing up my family didnt have money, my parents had to beg their bosses to let me stay with them while they work because we had no one watch me, all my brothers had 2 jobs to help our family survive. Sometimes at 9-10 years old i would have to stay home alone for 8+ hours by myself, no food, no money. I would try to steal a change from my brothers piggybank just so i can go to the liquor store and buy me something to munch on until my mom gets home from 12-14hrs shifts with my brother to cook for the family. Growing up my families struggle showed me that hard work and dedication can pay off in the long run. I appreciated everything that has happened to my life from the good to the bad and to the ugly. Best lessons in life are always the ones that hurt but it shows us that the outcome is always greater. As of 25 i am a head chef, i have a great Fiancee, my family is growing and strong, i havent stopped learning and expanding my knowledge because the world gives us lessons and no matter what they are we should always be thankful.
